Spending time alone makes one a better companion to others

For a confused mind, he says, "I don’t need anybody". He tries to evade from the obligations towards life. His intent, be towards building himself in to a better companion before finding one. Upon not completing this fundamental requirement, it is immaterial whether he is able to spend more time alone, for introspection. Having stated this one also needs to show deliberate interest to acknowledge others’ success and console in times of hardships.

Personal success is what people acknowledge and rightly so. This requires an individual to isolate at times. For example, while I am preparing for the upcoming projects, I may not be able to give time to my dear ones to their liking. Since we respect each other’s position in life, we don’t encounter immediate problems. Furthermore, it helps me to become composed, determined, and patient in listening to and helping out others in their problems to the best of my ability. On the other hand, getting self engrossed in my career goals might prove to be time consuming. Also, I might start thinking only what is virtually best for me. Thus, I might subconsciously start thinking for a better companion than being one.

Secondly, me being able to spend time with a person will help me develop a good rapport. Both highs and lows are shared which induces a feeling of kinship and hence trust evolves to seal friendship. We can help each other in improving the quality of our life, as sometimes the partner understands us better than we can think of ourselves. Moreover, one learns to become a better companion only as one spends time with others. In childhood, one learns to share one’s toys, in youth one learns how to become more socially and physically more attractive, in adulthood one learns how to listen and converse intelligently. All these qualities contribute to making a more desirable and sought after companion.

It’s not the person alone but for the versatility in his skills, position in society, accessibility, trustworthiness that makes up for a good companion. However, spending time alone will not help to develop kinship as one could possibly do when he spends time with others.
